  • Time Commitment: 40 hrs/week, 10 consecutive weeks
  • Salary Level: Paid Internship
  • Reports To: Eric Lorenz - Technical Sales Manager
  • Eligibility: Current Student or Recent Grad from a Massachusetts college with relevant experience

Position Summary:

Work within CivicSolar’s Technical Sales Team to help support the development of residential and small commercial PV system designs. Gain real-world experience in the development of PV system design packages beginning with initial feasibility studies to handing over complete designs to DIY homeowners, installers and developers.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Residential and Small Commercial PV System Design
  • Perform initial assessment / feasibility studies of residential and small commercial PV projects.
  • Develop preliminary PV system design with Technical Sales Team.
  • Communicate preliminary design to customer for approval of product selection, equipment locations and integration with building / structure.
  • Turn over preliminary design for completion by in-house designers and / or contracted design and engineering firm.
  • Supply follow-up details required for completion of full construction documentation to in-house designers and or contracted design / engineering firms.
  • Track project milestones and provide progress reports to Technical Sales Manager.
  • Assist customers help solve permitting, construction and inspection issues.

Product Data Management

  • Update descriptive product information presented in our catalog.
  • Update product documentation of catalog items as manufacturer revisions become available.
  • Analyze price/cost discrepancies throughout our catalog.
  • Search for product SKU discrepancies and correct as needed.

General Duties:

  • Support the company in assuring customer satisfaction.
  • Attend company meetings, trainings and perform other product and engineering related functions as needed.
  • The successful candidate is likely to have:
  • Academic and / or hands-on experience with PV system installation and / or design.
  • Working towards or earned BA degree in engineering or computer science
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and Google Apps is required.
  • AutoCAD, PVSyst, Helioscope experience desired.
  • Eagerness to learn about PV System design.
